About Dahab

This pearl of the gulf actually consists of two villages, the Bedouin village of Assalah is the northern half, with the business and administrative center of Dahab to the south.

Dahab is the Arabic word for gold, and it is almost certain that this locale in eastern Sinai derived its name from the fine yellow sand that colors its beaches.

The combination of golden sand, turquoise sea and a luxuriant strip of palm trees is pulling in the world.

Within just a few miles of Dahab are some great adventure spots.

Excellent dive sites lie both to the north and south, including the famous Blue Hole, one of Sinai's best.

As the Sun goes down you will find many bars, restaurants and bazaars along the beach or span into Masbat which is an exotic blend of Bedouins, Egyptians and Tourists.

You can also join a trip out into the desert at night to a Bedouin Village for a meal and some stargazing.
